和英国美国一样，去荷兰留学也需要签证。并且如果居留的时间长，还需要居住证。那么荷兰的签证分为哪几种类型呢？去荷兰留学，签证怎么办理？居住证怎么样才能拿到？如果在学习期间生病了不能按时修满学分，延长居住证又怎么办理？关于这些问题，荷兰都是有相关规定的。

　　To enter the Netherlands for study purposes, you might need a visa and/or a residence permit.

　　Whether you need a visa or not, depends on:

　　your nationality - as stated on your passport;

　　the duration of your stay: shorter or longer than three months;

　　your purpose of stay.

　　去荷兰学习你可能需要签证和居住证。

　　Your institution needs to apply

　　When you enrol in a study programme, your host institution will contact you to start up the application procedure. If not, ask for help by contacting the department dealing with international student mobility. Usually this will be the institution’s international office.

　　1.录取学校需要申请

　　注册学习课程的时候，录取学校会联系你，让你申请签证。如果学校没有联系你，你可以联系负责国际学生事务的部门。一般来说，这个部门是学校的国际办公室。

　　Start preparations early

　　Although the IND will generally process the application within two weeks, we recommend that you start the process early （about three months before you plan to enter the Netherlands）。 It may take some time for you to collect all the relevant documents for your institution.

　　尽早开始准备

　　虽然一般有两周的时间申请，但我们建议你尽早申请（计划入境荷兰的前三个月左右）。收集学校要求的相关材料会花费一定时间。

　　Types of visa

　　Depending on your nationality, you might need a visa to travel into the country. For stays of up to 90 days, this visa is called a ‘short stay visa’ or ‘Schengen visa’。 For stays longer than 90 days, this is called an entry visa （MVV） and is always followed by a residence permit （VVR）。

　　2.签证类型

　　入境荷兰可能需要签证，这取决于国籍。居留时间不超过90天的签证叫做短期居留签证或申根签证。居留时间在90天以上的签证叫做入境签证。需要入境签证的都需要居住许可证。

　　Validity

　　The visa will usually allow you to travel throughout all countries in the Schengen area. Sometimes the visa is limited to a single country （for example Holland only） or a few countries （for example Holland, Belgium and France）。 In that case, the visa will only allow you to travel to and through that particular country or these particular countries.

　　3.效力

　　签证一般都允许你在申根区的所有国家旅游。有时候，签证限制在一个国家（比如只能在荷兰）或少数几个国家（比如荷兰、比利时和法国）。这种情况下，签证就只允许你在一个国家或规定的几个国家旅游。

　　With a short stay visa your stay in the Schengen area is limited to a maximum of 90 days within a period of 180 days. This means that once you have been in the Schengen area for 90 days you may not return until another 90 days have passed.

　　An entry visa is also valid for only 90 days and is meant to be followed by a residence permit for a longer period of time.

　　持有短期居留签证，你可以待在申根区；在180天的周期内，待的时间*多为的90天。这也就是说，一旦你在申根区待了90天，要再过90天你才能返回荷兰。

　　入境签证有效期也只为90天，之后要办居住许可证，才能待更长的时间。

　　Multiple entry and single entry

　　With a ‘multiple entry’ visa you are allowed to travel in and out of the Schengen area during the validity of your visa.

　　With a ‘single entry’ visa you are allowed to travel within the Schengen area, but once you have left the Schengen area you cannot return without either a new Schengen visa for short stay, or a return visa for long stay.

　　4.双入境签证和单入境签证

　　双入境签证允许你在签证有效期内出入申根区。

　　单入境签证允许你在申请区旅游。不过一旦你离开申根区，只有持有新的申根签证（用于短期居留）或返回签证（用于长期居留），你才能返回申根区。

　　Residence permit

　　You need to have a residence permit if you are a citizen of a non-EU/EEA country or Switzerland and you would like to stay in the Netherlands for a period of more than three months.

　　5.居住证

　　对于非欧盟成员国（欧洲经济区）和非瑞士学生，如果想自爱荷兰居留三个月以上，则需要居住证。

　　A residence permit will generally be issued for the duration of your study programme, provided that you obtain 50% of your study credits every year.

　　Within five days of your arrival in the Netherlands your host institution has to apply for a residence permit on your behalf. Please check with your host institution to make sure this is arranged for you.

　　居住证有效期一般为课程学习时长，前提是一年你拿到一半的学分。

　　录取学校必须在你到达荷兰五天之内为你申请居住证。和录取学校核实，看他们是否有这项安排。

　　Requirements to keep your residence permit

　　As mentioned above, if you want to keep your permit, you need to get at least 50% of your study credits each year. However, you may have a reason to be unable to get that 50%. Whether that is an illness, homesickness or any other reason, please do not hesitate to contact your student counsellor.

　　6.保留居住证的要求

　　如上所述，如果你想要保留居住证，你每年至少需要拿一半的学分。不过，也可能拿不到一半的学分。比如因为生病、想家等原因。这时就要及时联系你的辅导员。

　　Together with your counsellor you can find out whether your reasons are valid enough to be excluded from the 50% credits rule. Please do not be afraid to ask for help because if you do not and you will end the year with less than 50%, you will be sent home.

　　辅导员可以帮助你确认你的原因是否可以让你免于一年拿一半学分的要求。不要害怕寻求帮护照，因为如果不寻求帮助，拿不到一半的学分，你就会被开除。

　　Extension of your residence permit

　　If your counsellor agrees that you have valid reasons for not obtaining 50% of your credits, you are eligible for an extension of your permit.

　　Please note that you cannot apply for the extension yourself, this can only be done by your host institution. Therefore, you need to contact the international office.

　　7.延长居住证

　　如果辅导员同意你可以拿不到一半学分，你就有资格申请延长居住证。

　　居住证的延长不能自己申请，要学校申请。因此你需要和国际办公室联系。

　　Registering with the council

　　If you are staying in the Netherlands for more than four months you will need to go to the city council and register as a new resident of the town where you are living.

　　Registration regulations may vary from one council to another. It is best to contact your higher education institution or the council directly. They can tell you the exact registration procedure, including which documents you need to hand in （such as a valid passport, your rental contract and so on）。

　　8.到市政局登记

　　如果你要在荷兰居留四个月以上，你需要到市政局登记，成为当地的新居民。

　　不同地方的市政局的登记规定不尽相同。*好直接联系学校或市政局。他们可以告诉你具体的登记程序和你需要提交的文件（如有效护照、租赁合同等）。

　　Nuffic Certificate for Chinese students

　　All Chinese nationals （People's Republic of China） have to get a Nuffic Certificate to be eligible for a Dutch entry visa and enrol in an English-taught study programme. This does not apply to nationals from Hong Kong （SAR）， Macau （SAR） and Taiwan （ROC）。

　　9.Nuffic Certificate （适用于国内学生）

　　对于中国学生，需要持有Nuffic Certificate 才能申请荷兰入境签证，注册授课语言为英语的学习课程。这项规定不适用于香港、澳门和台湾的学生。

　　What is a Nuffic Certificate?

　　A Nuffic Certificate ensures that you are sufficiently qualified to pursue your studies in Holland and is an assessment of:

　　1.your English proficiency;

　　2.the authenticity of your educational degrees and diplomas.

　　The Certificate can only be used for your residence permit application in the Netherlands and is made digitally available to the Dutch higher education institution you selected.

　　We recommend you submit your application as early as possible so that you can start your study programme on time.

　　Please note that the Nuffic Certificate is not a credential evaluation and does not automatically grant admission to a study programme either.
